As East European immigrant, I was initially attracted to New York because of the area's vast artistic presence. New York inspired me to experiment with new materials and with a new types of framing and composition.
Oddly, the inspiration for my latest series was found in stack of old magazines, from the 1940's, at yard sale in Hampton Bays. As I flipped through I was stuck by some ads. I thought of how those ads were different compared to those that are presented so commonly nowadays. With nostalgia getting best of me, I decided to work with unique discovery, adding a new twist that would potentially bring 40's spirit back to today's audience.
